Better Together:

Unlocking the Power of Location

w/ Montana-born Technology and Design

The onX mission is to Awaken the Adventurer Inside Everyone.  OnX is a Montana based company, founded in 2009, with a focus on creating magical experiences for customers in the backcountry through our Hunt, Offroad and Backcountry mobile apps.  We are bringing together geospatial content and data within easy-to-use map-based recreation and navigation apps.  This presentation will weave the theme of Better Together through various threads of onX products, philosophy, and advocacy. We’ll explore the ways in which public data is amplified by private business for greater reach and usability. Collaborative in-app tools that have been designed for both individuals and organizations will be highlighted for their utility in adventure planning and sharing, as well as discussion of facilitating strengthened and significantly extended foundational data. Lastly, we’ll showcase our public land access initiatives and advocacy with a focus on how geospatial data and visualization can serve to bring people together, with the right information, to effect change.
