  • How much GIS experience and training do you have?
  • Where do you live?
• What is the mentoring goal:  Accomplishing a specific task? Acquire a certain skill? Broad career guidance? All of the above?
• What type of communication does each person prefer: face-to-face, email, live chat, or GoToMeeting type conferencing?
• How long will it take to accomplish the goal?  Does everyone agree that the goal might be achieved by the target date?
• How frequently will you meet or talk?
• How much time does the mentor have to help achieve the goal?
• What else do you expect of each other?
