2008 Intermountain GIS Conference Student ScholarshipsSubmission Deadline February 15th, 2008 (download pdf )
The Montana Association of Geographic Information Professionals (MAGIP) is pleased to offer 20 student scholarships to the Intermountain GIS Conference to be held in Missoula, Montana from April 7-11, 2008. The scholarship covers the full registration fee for the conference. All other costs such as travel, lodging, and workshop fees will remain the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. Students will be expected to assist organizers with conference activities for a minimum of 8 hours during the conference. A coordinator will assist and schedule students. Assistance is needed primarily on Wednesday April 9th and Thursday April 10th, but some assistance will be needed each day.
These scholarships are only available to students enrolled in a two-year or four-year higher learning institution (state, private, or tribal). A number of scholarships come with a $150 stipend to offset travel expenses for those recipients who do not currently live within normal commuting distance of the Missoula area.
A panel will review applications received by 5 pm on February 15th, 2008 and notify all applicants by March 1, 2008. The scholarships will be allocated in the order applications are received. Preference will be given to those students who are also presenting. In addition, the review panel has been directed to strive for a good geographic distribution of applicants as well.
