At the February 16 board meeting, the Board of Directors voted to ask the membership to vote on changing the membership renewal date to January 1st.

I would like to add 'membership renewal due annually on anniversary date' where the anniversary date is the date last paid as a second choice in the vote.

I am not asking the board to change their prior decision, but to consider adding a second option to the vote such that the members can vote their choice rather than yes or no.

I have spoken with several members about this and the response I have gotten is that people want renewal on their own renewal date (and they have been operating under this assumption for several years now).

Please discuss ... I will monitor the discussion and call for a vote by the end of the week if appropriate.

Here is Erin's comment on the issue - taken from an email that she sent to myself and a couple of others on the board before she left on her trip...

"I think we should give the users a choice in what type of membership year they would like to have.  I know the board voted on the calendar year, but I really think we give people a choice.  I agreed with a year from when you purchase your membership.  I have asked a few people, nonboard members what they think about it, and so far everyone I have polled thinks it should be 365 days from when you purchase your membership.  I'm not asking for a reverse of what the board has decided rather a choice to our membership, because if they vote no, we are back at square one with a membership time problem."
