Seminar 25
ConnectED Initiative and Montana Schools

Presentation Date: November 20, 2014
Presenters: Ken Wall, Geodata Services, Inc.

Abstract:

The White House and ESRI have launched a national initiative to bring the world of interactive mapping to any K-12 school in the nation.  This allows students in all grades to explore the world like they’ve never seen it before.  Students and their teachers can understand a subject, region, or event by investigating data and view, build, and share maps with a computer, tablet or smartphone.  They can apply it to almost any academic topic and work on projects ranging from the schoolyard to the global environment.   Ken will explain the process for MAGIP members to become a geo-mentor for your local school(s) and assist them in the short application form and program implementation.  Esri is providing a free 50 seat ArcGIS for organizations annual license to qualifying schools (the equivalent of a $10,000 commercial value per school).

* Space Limited to 25 attendees

* GoToMeeting information will be sent in separate reminder emails.
