On, Thursday, April 5, 2012 MAGIP was asked to judge the Geospatial Sciences Poster Competition at the 7th Annual Montana State University Earth Science Colloquium. This was the second consecutive year that MAGIP has provided a judge and award for the Colloquium.

There was a great turn-out for the GIS poster contest this year. But, the ultimate winner was Jeffery Hedstrom with his poster titled 'Agriculture Land Suitability for Cropland on the Hedstrom Farm and Ranch near Malta, Montana'.

Jeffery Hedstrom displayed his poster at the Intermountain GIS Conference this Spring in Kalispell for which he received an award from MAGIP to help offset the cost of travel expenses.
